ABOUT US
Glen Rock Shooting Stars Soccer Club is a non-profit organization administered by Glen Rock parents. The club was formed in the mid 70’s and today is made up of over 250 boys and girls (aged 7-18yrs old) along with 50 parent volunteers. Teams are trained by professional trainers, with UK Elite being the club’s primary training partner.

OUR GOAL
One of the club’s primary goals is to provide children with the opportunity to participate in a travel soccer program where they can develop and improve their soccer skills in fun but competitive environment and learn the virtues of hard work, respect, honesty, self-control, teamwork and sportsmanship. The Club also strives to promote the game in the Borough of Glen Rock and help develop talent for the Middle School and High School Soccer Teams.

COMMITMENT
Tryouts (mainly run by UK Elite) are held every spring for the following season (September-June). Attendance at tryouts is mandatory for all interested children. Teams train two days a week for 90 minutes each session and are invited to attend weekly skills and goalkeeping training sponsored by the club. They will play approximately 10 games in the Fall season (Sept – Nov) and 10 in the Spring season (March – June). All Shooting Stars teams will be playing in a Columbus Day weekend tournament in 2013. Additional tournaments are possible as each team sees fit.

FEES
The cost of Glen Rock Shooting Stars Soccer Club is composed of two separate fees: Club Fee and an additional Team Fee.

Club Fee The Club fee for the Fall and Spring season will be $280 and can only be paid via credit card. This fee is only one portion of the expense of Shooting Stars and will be payable upon notification of being selected for a team. This initial fee is intended to cover league registration fees, Club sponsored events including special skills and goal keeper sessions & clinics, one Club Sponsored Fall Tournament game day trainers (up to limit), insurance, field rental, lining & improvements, field light rental, supplies and administrative expenses. Uniforms must be purchased in addition to these fees.

Team Fees Each team will incur additional costs of approximately $470 to $500 per player (total for Fall and Spring). Teams that play in leagues other than Northern Counties will incur higher costs. The variation in team costs is due to many factors including, the size of the roster, usage of paid trainers, number of tournaments entered and other team specific activities (such as winter training). Off season activities are expected to be voluntary.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS:
For Glen Rock residents
To register for tryouts, go to www.glenrocksports.org. If you have participated in Glen Rock Lacrosse, Football or Rec Soccer in the past, or have an account with the Glen Rock Community School, your family already has an account at www.glenrocksports.org - use the same login and password. Otherwise you must create an account for your family.

Once you sign in, select "Glen Rock Shooting Stars" and then "2013-2014 Tryouts". The system will place you in a tryout group based on your birthday. For those born after August 1st but who want to tryout with their grade instead of their age group, you will be given two options (one group based on birthday and another based on 2013/2014 grade).

For residents of other towns:
If you have an account with Capturepoint for your town, please go to www.glenrocksports.org and login using your existing username and password information. Please select "Glen Rock" as the community you would like to enter and proceed with registration as described above. If you do not, please visit www.glenrocksports.org and set up an account for your family.
